What experience got you into the paranormal?
I grew up in an old farmhouse south of Gettysburg. From a young age I experienced things in that house that were odd. My parents told me about experiences that they had and I was intrigued, but I "closed the door" on what was happening because we had a residual haunt that scared me as a young child. As I grew up and started working in theatre, I had some experiences that I knew were paranormal but I had no idea how to get more into the field. For my 50th birthday I was gifted an investigation with JNP and was hooked.
What was your favorite place to investigate?
There are a lot of places I like to investigate, but I think White Hill Mansion would be my favorite. I feel like I have made a connection with something there.
Least favorite place?
I haven't found a least favorite place at this point. Every place has pros and cons.
A place you want to investigate?
Saint Augustine Lighthouse. I've always liked lighthouses, they seem to have a mystique to the them. Really any place that involves history, nautical elements and the paranormal is high on my list.
Favorite piece of ghost hunting equipment to use during an investigation?
I would say the Tripwire is my favorite physical piece of equipment. I am learning to lean on some empathic skills, which is interesting as well
Advice you would give someone just starting out with investigating?
Make sure you research the venue you are investigating. Not for the "haunts" but the real history. Don't go into investigations with any expectations. When you least expect something to happen is when it most likely will. If you are looking for your first piece of equipment, buy a voice recorder and an a mag-lite. The mag-lite can be used for investigating and finding your way in the dark. The voice recorder can be used for recording research interview and EVP.
